I have sensitive and dry skin, so lactic acid treatments work really well for my skin. If you want to learn more about lactic acid, check out my Skincare 101 post on exfoliators here. After reading all of the rave reviews of the Good Genes Lactic Acid All in One Facial Treatment from Sunday Riley, I decided to give it a try and here are my thoughts. Does it live up to the hype? Is worth the expensive price?
Sunday Riley Good Genes – What they say
Multi-tasking, targeted lactic acid treatment rapidly exfoliates and boosts naturally youthful radiance, while visibly reducing the look of lines, wrinkles and dark spots. High potency, purified grade lactic acid exfoliates dull, pore-clogging dead skin cells, to instantly clarify and reveal smoother, clearer skin. Together with skin brightening licorice, this super-concentrated treatment visually reduces the look of dark spots, age spots, and discoloration caused by exposure to the sun, for naturally brighter, even-toned skin.
Clinically proven to immediately and significantly plump fine lines and boost radiance in just 3 minutes.
Sunday Riley Good Genes – My Honest Review
First off, I didn’t notice any burning like you can get with some exfoliating products, just a slight tingling. I left this on for about 10-15 minutes and checked out my skin in the mirror prior to rinsing. I didn’t notice any plumping or radiance boost as the products claims to do in three minutes. What I did notice was dehydration lines on my forehead and could tell that my skin was being dried out a bit from the application of this product.
However, the next day after using my normal skincare routine, my skin did appear smoother and more visibly radiant. I did feel a little bit of skin sensitivity the next day while applying other products so be aware of that.
Overall, I do think my skin looked amazing and had a beautiful glow after using the Sunday Riley Good Genes, but I’m not sure this product is worth the hype and definitely not worth the cost. I do think there are similar products that do the same work but are not as pricey as Good Genes. Check out the Lactic Acid from The Ordinary, which I reviewed and found to be even better than Good Genes and at a fraction of the cost.
