First off, why is that name so long? Whew, it’s a mouthful. When Tarte announced the launch of some new Shape Tape products I was all like “Yaaaassss!!” simply because I’m a huge fan of the Shape Tape concealers and foundations. So I hopped in my car and sped to Ulta to pick this one up.
What They Say:
Fine lines? Pores? Never heard of ’em. Tarte’s Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Pore & Prime Balm is a vegan, can’t-believe-it’s-not-silk primer that makes makeup glide on smoother & last longer than Mondays. Plus, it comes in an on-the-go compact with a sponge! Once you feel this formula, you’ll know why – it’s super sensorial & a little goes a long way!
Benefits:
- Creamy, lightweight formula easily blends into skin to blur & smooth imperfections
- Helps control oil to keep your foundation looking flawless all day long
- Formulated with vitamin E to help keep skin nourished
Skinvigorating Ingredients:
- Vitamin E: Natural preservative that also acts as an emollient & antioxidant
- Sunflower Seed Oil: Rich in vitamins A & E to help hydrate & regenerate skin
My Thoughts:
If you really want to see what I thought about this, check the video review below. I mean you can literally see how awful this product is. It is supposed to be a dupe for the Tatcha Silk Canvas (which I’ve never used, so I can’t speak to that).
The idea is that this product will glide onto the skin leaving it flawless. Pores will be minimized and imperfections blurred. When I sat down to try this for the video, I had high hopes. The texture is unique being that it is a balm, but it’s almost non-existent when applying it to the skin. I literally had to reapply and reapply again. Yet nothing!
In fact, I felt this actually brought out the texture of my skin even more. I think my pores looked larger and more pronounced after using this. I even tried putting powder over it and it looked worse, causing the powder to pill up.
So this was a total fail for me. If you are really curious about how it worked, check the video for a more in depth review. I decided to keep this though because I want to do a Beauty Battle video with this and the new Putty Primer from E.L.F. if I can I ever get my hands on this.
Final Thoughts?
Save your money, honey!
