My Top Clean Beauty Options at Target

When I started out on my Clean Beauty journey, it was often hard to find brands that had great products and were able to be purchased in stores. Most of the products I tried at first were brands I found at Whole Foods or ordered online. However, as the need for non-toxic, clean beauty products increases, more and more retailers are taking notice and making some amazing changes. Target is just one of those retailers. I mean…who doesn’t love Target? Next to Disney, it really is my happy place.

Target Clean Program

So I was excited to see Target make some changes and to begin carrying more and more natural and clean skincare, haircare and body care brands. In fact they even created “Target Clean” which is a program similar to Sephora’s “Clean at Sephora”. Target Clean now carries a seal on over 4,000 products that meet Target’s standards of clean. This program includes beauty, household, baby, and pet products that are formulated without parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, oxybenzone, SLES, aluminum, added fragrances, and more.

Clean Beauty Brands at Target

You can check out my Clean Beauty resource page here to see what Clean Beauty brands are carried at Target. Some of my favorite Clean Beauty brands at Target include: Acure, Cocokind, Dr. Bronners, Honest Beauty, Native, Shea Moisture, Versed, Weleda, and W3ll People.

While Target does list many other brands, I would consider those to be “safe” or “safer” but they don’t necessarily live up to my high standards of what Clean Beauty is. If you have read my blog for awhile, you will know that I have pretty high standards of what Clean Beauty is. For example, I don’t use products with Phenoxyethanol in them. While this has been approved in a percentage point of 1% or less, I have found that it is extremely irritating to my skin (and the skin of others I have talked to). Phenoxyethanol is a preservative alternative to parabens and is currently a pretty controversial ingredient. I can’t even tell you how many comments I get on my post and video on Phenoxyethanol. But for me, personally, it is irritating for my skin so I don’t consider products with this ingredient to be clean. So that does leave a few of the Target Clean brands off of my list.
