If you have been a follower of my blog or YouTube channel for awhile now, you will know that I’m obsessed with everything French, and that includes skincare. Back when I worked in the industry and in spas, I actually worked closely with the French skincare brand Caudalie. At that time, they were one of my favorite skincare brands and I used them regularly.
Over the years, as I have tried other brands, I had forgotten about Caudalie. Until recently. When I started my Clean Beauty journey, I researched Clean Beauty brands and Caudalie was one that came up pretty frequently. In fact, they are one of the brands under the Clean at Sephora label. Needless to say, I dived back into the Caudalie world and I’m super excited that I did.
Caudalie – The Company
Founders Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas discovered the hidden benefits of grapes on her family’s vineyard in Bordeaux, France back in the early nineties. They soon learned the powerful anti-oxidant benefits of grape seed and began working on skincare products.
In 1995 they launched the skincare line with three products containing grape seed polyphenols. One of their first products was the Beauty Elixir, which is still their top selling product to this day. Based on the Queen of Hungary’s formula known as the “elixir of youth”, this is still a cult favorite among celebrities and makeup artists today. It is definitely one of my favorite products of all time too.
Caudalie was also the first to use and patent Reservatrol which is claimed to help slow down the signs of aging and protect the skin. And today Caudalie is a pioneer in the green/clean beauty movement. They strive to offer the most natural but effective skincare formulas while leaving out the nasties such as Parabens, Phenoxyethanol, Mineral Oils and more.
Caudalie Gentle Cleansing Milk
I love to use a gentle cleansing milk that you can just tissue off in the mornings. I have been on the hunt for a good one to replace my cleansing milk from Dior, which is not a clean product. I was happy to discover that Caudalie has a cleansing milk.
Full of skin loving and hydrating ingredients like sweet almond oil and shea butter, this leaves my skin feeling fresh and smooth. It does a wonderful job of cleansing my skin in the morning without stripping the skin’s moisture barrier. In fact my skin feels even better afterwards.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir
I’ve already mentioned the popularity of this product. When I worked as a makeup artist I used to use this prior to foundation to help give the skin a “lit from within” glow. It can also be used on top of makeup as a setting spray and to rehydrate the skin.
Made with 100% natural and organic ingredients this does a great job when used as a toner to hydrate and tone the skin as well as reduce the appearance of pores and leave skin glowing.
Caudalie Grape Water
I can not rave enough about this product. I seriously want to bathe in it. The big can is about the size of a hairspray can and retails for only $18. Made with 100% grape water and nothing else, this does a fabulous job of hydrating the skin. It has also been super helpful at soothing my often irritated and sensitive skin.
Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum
This has super hydrating ingredients like Grape Water and Hyaluronic Acid. I tend to use this mostly when my skin is feeling really dry and irritated. It is a lightweight texture but has super moisturizing capabilities. I definitely notice that my skin is softer, smoother, more hydrated and even plumped up when I use this serum.
CAudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet
The texture of this is pure heaven. It has a gorgeous cloud like, whipped texture that feels light on the skin but leaves skin super hydrated. In addition to the hydrating and nourishing grape water, this also has chamomile so it is very soothing for sensitive skin such as mine. My skin was left soothed and smoothed!
Caudalie Vinosource SOS Intense Moisturizer
I decided to bump up the skin loving products with this moisturizer. It does the same job as the Sorbet but is thicker in texture and more hydrating as well. In addition to the grape water this also has olive squalane and borage oil to really hydrate dry, sensitive skin.
This cream is soothing and real saviour for drier skin types.
