Mad Hippie Skincare Review

Mad hippie, mad hippie review, mad hippie skincare, mad hippie vitamin c, mad hippie serum, mad hippie cream cleanser,

Even before I started my Clean Beauty journey, Mad Hippie was a brand that came up over and over. I had tried a few of their products but really did a deep dive into the line when I transitioned over to non-toxic beauty products.

Mad Hippie: The Brand

When I’m looking at a company and whether I want to support them, not only am I look at ingredients and for the products to be as natural as possible, I’m also looking at how the company is as a brand. Do they show all people of all colors, identities and personal expressions on their site and social media channels? Do they use alternative and recyclable packaging? Are they trying to be as sustainable as possible when sourcing ingredients?

Mad Hippie checks all of these boxes and more. Just look at this statement, which they call their Hippie Creed, on their website:

We are hippies on a mission. Sure we make skin care, but that’s just the beginning. Our underlying commitment is to increasing beauty around the world. And, we don’t mean beauty simply from the esthetic standpoint. We mean real beauty. The beauty of love. The beauty of health. The beauty of self confidence. The beauty of optimism. The beauty of community. The beauty of taking care of one another regardless of gender, race, orientation, age, location, or even species.  From helping inspire people to make healthier choices, to raising awareness and support for social causes & the environment, Mad Hippie is committed to the belief in a brighter, better tomorrow.

Not only do they make amazing products but they give back to foundations and organizations such as Save The Elephants and The Whole Planet Foundation. Such an amazing company, so let’s dive right into the reviews

Mad Hippie Cream Cleanser

This mildly acidic cleanser is meant to cleanse without stripping the skin’s moisture barrier. It is full of moisturizing and anti-oxidant oils to cleanse the skin while hydrating it. Joboba oil, orchid extract, macadamia oil and more make this such a nourishing product.

I typically use this after an oil cleanser at night. It does a great job of cleansing the skin without stripping my skin or drying it out. I am more sensitive and dry and this leaves my skin feeling fresh, smooth and hydrated.

Mad Hippie Exfoliating Serum

While my Herbivore Botanicals Prism Glow Exfoliating Serum is my go to, this one comes in a strong second. With a cocktail of ingredients such as Glycolic and Lactic Acids and the addition of Matrixyl, this serum leaves your skin glowing and super smooth.

I love this one because it does not cause any irritation or sensitivity in my already sensitive and eczema prone skin. It does a great job of reducing hyperpigmentation, brightening and clarifying the skin and leaving my skin glowing and smooth. With the addition of ceramides, this does a great job of moisturizing as it exfoliates. Highly recommend!

Mad Hippie Vitamin C

Right now this is both Mr. Cupcakes and mine’s favorite Vitamin C serum. It is gentle but super effective. This does a great job of reducing discoloration and fine lines. In addition to the Vitamin C it is full of other beneficial anti-oxidants like Vitamin E and Feurlic Acid. It also has some fabulous calming and hydrating ingredients like Chamomile and Clary Sage.

I love this one! Leaves my skin soft and glowing without any irritation that I usually get from other Vitamin C products.

Mad Hippie Anti-Oxidant Oil

Honestly, this is probably one of my favorite products I discovered in 2019. I am a facial oil junkie and this one does not disappoint. Argan and Hemp Seed oils provide instant moisture and are full of Omegas to nourish the skin. This oil is chock full of anti-oxidants including: Blueberry, Pomegranate, Camu Camu Berry, Strawberry, Grape Seed and more.

I typically use this in place of moisturizer and night and my skin is loving it. It hydrates, nourishes and protects the moisture barrier function of my skin. It plumps skin and leaves it glowing. I can’t go to bed without this. I typically do a full dropper full at night and now taken to using two to three drops mixed in my moisturizer during the day. My skin loves this!

Mad Hippie Eye Cream

This is the only product I’ve tried so far that didn’t work out for me. It really made the eczema flare up around my eye and cheek area. I haven’t figured out why, but I tried this on two different occasions with some skin healing time in between. It was definitely this product.

However, I only broke out on one eye and not both. So I don’t want to necessarily say it was this product as a whole but rather something in there didn’t work out with my eczema and hyper sensitive skin. BUT, Mr. Cupcakes loves this and is using it regularly without issue.

There are a few more products from this brand I need and want to try. For more details on my thoughts on Mad Hippie, check out the video below. Have you tried anything from this brand yet? What are some of your favorites?
