So if you have been following my blog or YouTube channel for awhile now, you may know that I LOVE facial oils! I’m super dry and sensitive and I just find them so nourishing, soothing, and hydrating for my skin. I have a few favorites that I always use or go back to (like Acure’s Pure Argan Oil or Wander Beauty’s Glow Ahead Face Oil for instance). In fact, I should do a post on my favorite facial oils!

As a former makeup artist, I love to play and try new makeup products, but I never really wore makeup myself. However, because I suffer from eczema, when I occasionally have a breakout, I may need to use something to neutralize redness and even out my skin tone. So when I first heard about Kosas Tinted Face Oil Foundation, I was like “what?!” and was super intrigued to try it out.

Kosas Tinted Face Oil Foundation

Kosas Tinted Face Oil Foundation is a clean, lightweight skin tint and nourishing face oil. It’s more than just a skin tint though, it’s actually skincare that works overtime to improve the look of your skin, while moisturizing, soothing, and protecting.

It has an amazing blend of oils to nourish your skin. It has Avocado Oil to moisturize, Meadowfoam Oil to plump, Red Raspberry Oil to repair, Jojoba Oil to soothe, Camellia Seed Oil to balance, and Rosehip Oil to brighten. The mineral based pigments help to even out skin tone, and minimize pores. Another thing I love about it is that all of the ingredients are super clean and simple.

My Review of the Kosas Tinted Face Oil Foundation

So being that I was so intrigued by this, I had to give it a try. I used the Sephora Foundation Finder to match up the Kosas Tinted Face Oil Foundation with another foundation that I had and loved. I read reviews that the Kosas Face Tine was a bit on the lighter side, so I went up one shade darker than what the Sephora site matched me up with it. I have to say that it is pretty spot on with color. It looks a bit light at first, but definitely oxidizes to a perfect match. So when purchasing this, I recommend going one to two shades darker.

Before I make any purchases I always read reviews and watch review videos on YouTube. I mean I make my blog posts and YouTube videos for the same reason, to help educate others to make informed product purchases. One video I saw on the Kosas Tinted Face Oil was actually two people from Kosas talking about how they use and apply the product. One person said that he likes to add 4 drops to the palms of hands, rub it together and then presses it into his skin, similar to how you would apply a face oil or serum. So at first I went with that method.

Now from my research, it is recommended that you do 4 drops of the face oil for your application. Maybe 6 if you want more coverage. So I followed the above method upon my initial application. Right away I was not impressed. It didn’t seem to blend well, looked splotchy, and made my pores seem to stand out more. You can see my first impression and wear test throughout the day in the video below.

From the wear test, I learned that it pretty much stays on all day. I didn’t’ have it wear off on anything and even lasted through a sweaty Pilates workout.

Still, I was not impressed with the splotchiness and emphasized pores! But I don’t give up easily, and thought I would just apply this the same way I would apply any other foundation. So the very next day that is exactly what I did. I added a few drops to my finger tips and blended that into my skin. Then I went back in with a fluffy foundation brush to blend in the product and help to diffuse the application a bit. And my skin looked PERFECT!! No splotchiness, no pores, no redness, no uneven skin tone. And my skin was GLOWING! Seriously, this makes your skin look amazing and super glowy. Just look at the photo above! That photo is not retouched and is not using a filter. My skin looks amazing!

From that second application, I was hooked! And after a few more days of use, I noticed that my skin without the Face oil looks even better as I’m getting all those amazing skincare benefits from the product as well. So now I’m obsessed with this product and can’t wait to try more from Kosas. I’m also going to be trying the tinted facial oils from Glossier and Ilia and will be doing a Beauty Battle with all three.

If you are normal to dry skin and want a healthy, dewy, natural look I highly recommend this. I think it might be too much for oily skin types. The finish is so natural that it just looks like your skin but only better! It feels so light that you wont even realize you have anything on. The added skincare benefits make this a total win!
