Bonjour mes amis! It is time for my September Favorites, which are some of my favorite videos/posts to share (pun intended). September is the month that I really chose to dive into my Clean Beauty journey, so this is all clean beauty products. And I want to start off first with the book that helped me launch this journey.
No More Dirty Looks by Siobhan O’Connor and Alexandra Spunt
“No More Dirty Looks: The Truth about Your Beauty Products–and the Ultimate Guide to Safe and Clean Cosmetics” was the first book I really purchased on the topic of Clean Beauty. It is chocked full of useful and informative information.
I love how this is broken down by body areas such as Face, Hair, etc. Then within each section it goes into toxic and irritating ingredients to look out for and where you will commonly find them. At the end of each section are some clean product recommendations. I found this book to be super helpful in helping me learn more about how to transition to a cleaner beauty routine.
Triology Cream Cleanser
The Triology Cream Cleanser is a natural based cream cleanser that does an amazing job at cleansing skin without stripping it of oils. It is formulated with hydrating ingredients like rosehip, evening primrose and carrot. It is different than most cream cleansers where you just tissue them off, this one actually gently foams. It has left my skin feeling very clean but also well hydrated. I just discovered this brand and can’t wait to try more from them.
This one does have fragrance/parfum so is not 100% natural but if you are not bothered by scented products, you will love this one as much as I do.
Caudalie Grape Water
Caudalie Grape Water is made of 100% organic grape water extract to refresh and hydrate your skin. I love how refreshing this is and the spray is perfect. I use it at night as my toner and then throughout the day to freshen up.
It leaves skin super soft and glowing. It has been great at keeping my skin well hydrated throughout the day.
Eve Hansen Rose Camellia FAce Oil
This is probably my absolute favorite product right now. The Eve Hansen Rose Camellia Face Oil is full of nourishing and anti-aging ingredients and has been amazing at soothing my eczema prone skin. It has squalane, rosehip oil, camellia seed oil, argan oil, sweet almond oil and more.
I use a little bit of this in the AM to hydrate and prep my skin. It gives a beautiful glow to the skin without making me look oily. Then at night I use this with a retinol like serum (review coming soon on that one). It does a beautiful job of hydrating and nourishing my skin. Since using this my eczema breakouts have been fewer and far between.
Pacifica Beauty Water Bounce Booster Serum
I do have to admit that it took some time for me to notice any results from using the new Pacifica Beauty Water Bounce Booster Serum. But after a few weeks I can definitely tell that it helps to hydrate and plump the skin. In my opinion this works similar to a Hyaluronic Acid serum.
Plant based pea-peptides and kelp extracts help to boost moisture on the skin and maintain moisture levels. The texture of this is more watery and I absolutely love the scent. If you decide to try this one, definitely give it some time to see how it works. Now that I can notice how well it moisturizes and plumps my skin, I’m loving it.
Acure Seriously Soothing BLUE TANSY Facial Oil
I recently discovered Blue Tansy oil and have been trying a few different brands out. Blue Tansy has a gorgeous watermelon like scent and is amazing at soothing inflamed skin. I just picked up this new Acure Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Oil and let me say this, it seriously soothes. I use this at night in conjunction with the Eve Hansen Camellia Rose Oil and they two together have been amazing at hydrating, nourishing and leaving my skin glowing. They also have been miraculous in keeping my eczema from flaring up and irritating my skin.
I am currently using this at night in the place of an actual moisturizer and my skin has never looked or felt better. I’ve only ever tried the Acure Argan Oil before (which is actually my favorite) and now this. I will definitely be trying more from Acure in the future.
Caudalie VinoSource Moisturizing Sorbet
About ten years ago, I worked with Caudalie and they were the only skincare I used exclusively. I had forgotten all about them until I started my Clean Beauty journey. They are listed under the Sephora Clean Seal so I perused them recently and purchased a few products. The Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet was one of them and I am obsessed. I will definitely be going back to using a lot more Caudalie in my skincare routine.
Full of grape extracts this super lightweight moisturizer soothes, comforts and hydrates skin. The texture of this is heavenly, seriously it is like putting a cloud on your face. This is probably one of the best moisturizers I have ever used and it is now a staple in my AM Skincare routine.
Eve Hansen French Rose Clay Facial Mask
Now, I must admit, that I was nervous to try this one. Most clay masks really freak out my skin and make my eczema flare up. But the Eve Hansen French Rose Clay Mask has actually been very soothing and hydrating for my skin.
This does a great job at cleansing the skin and minimizing pores while at the same time calming irritation, inflammation and redness. This has also been beautiful at firming skin and leaving it smooth and glowing. I am a HUGE Eve Hansen fan right now.
The Original Jane Fonda Workout
Ok, I’ll admit it…I’m an 80’s kid. I grew up in the 80’s and a lot of stuff from the era really defined my childhood. Some of it, I am still fan of to this day. Right now I am watching GLOW and AHS 1984 which both take place in the 80’s and I am feeling very nostalgic.
In the first episode of AHS 1984 they are in an aerobics class and it got my interest perked up. So one day I found The Original Jane Fonda Workout streaming on Amazon and decided to give it a go. It was fun and very challenging. I even burned more calories in 30 minutes of that workout than I do in my normal weekly 60 minute workouts. I will definitely be trying that one again and now I’m on the hunt to find a live, in person aerobics class. Legwarmers and sparkly headbands included of course.
